Mr Sneakers Belgium 2023 Contest
The third election will take place in Brussels on Saturday 25 February 2023 at 16:00 as part of the Belgian Sneakers Days. Once again, Stammbar will host the competition.

On the day of the competition, the jury will conduct an individual interview with the candidates in order to identify their personality in depth. Their votes count for 2/3 of the results. The rest is awarded by the public present au Stammbar at the time of the contest where each visitor is entitled to a vote. For the sake of transparency, a person in the audience who has no connection with the participants will be invited as a witness to the count.

What are the criteria for registering as a candidate ?
#BEsneax, the association, is dedicated to sneakers and sportswear lovers, no matter what age, race, gender, sexual orientation. #BEsneax, however applies strict rules for candidates registering for the title of “Mister Sneakers Belgium 2023”:
- The contest is reserved for sneakers and sportswear lovers that identifies as man
- The candidate must have reached the legal majority (+18y) on January 1ST of the year the election
- The winner will be invited and/or requested to contribute or participate at events and/or institutions where the legal age is required
- All candidates are required to affiliate as member of #BEsneax and have cleared the yearly contribution to the association
As titleholder, for #BEsneax, you are representing Belgium on national and international scale. Therefore the candidates must be:
- Residing in Belgium (No requirement to have or have obtained the Belgian nationality)
- Preferably native French and/or Dutch and be fluent in English. More languages are a plus.
“Mister Sneakers Belgium” is a contest with a main goal to find a representative who best conveys and defends the concept of sneakers and sportswear in the LGBTQIA+ fetish scene locally and internationally.
To do so, candidates will be required to:
- be present at different times before the Belgian Sneakers Days (To be announced, at least once)
- be present during the Belgian Sneakers Days (23/02-26/02)
The winner of the election will be required to be present at the following events in the company of the board of #BEsneax:
- The Belgian Pride (Brussels)
- Antwerp Pride (Antwerp)
- Darklands
- #BEsneax Fetish Social Drinks (Mostly Brussels) at a ratio of 6x/year.
The First Runner-Up could be required to help, represent or replace the titleholder for certain activities.
As part of promotion or communication actions, the candidates are ready to make their image available to #BEsneax and its business partners, other Belgian fetish associations, health promotion institutions… mainly for Mr Sneakers Belgium who is the ambassador of the community, of course, but of the association above all.
Besides requirements, the elections is restricted or forbidden to candidates in the following:
- Being a titleholder in the period running as candidate
- Forbidden to apply two consecutive editions
- Forbidden to former Mr Sneakers Belgium
Once the list of candidates has been officially published, everyone will be able to ensure their personal promotion in order to make themselves known to the community (social media, flyer…). The only exception is that press and media interviews are not permitted on an individual basis. If this were to be the case, it would be for a general article on the competition which would introduce all the candidates.
To designate the winner, the vote of the jury counts for 2/3 and that of the public present on site for 1/3.
There are no established rules as to the behavior to have during the mandate. Common sense must prevail over respect for the title. On the other hand, wearing the sash is strictly personal and exclusive. If in doubt, the board of #BEsneax can advise.
Registration for the contest implies full acceptance of these rules. Applications start on 02 December 2022 and close on 21 January 2023. After this date, the candidates will be officially presented within 10 days.
