#BEsneax will fulfill all its missions in one weekend. On the one hand, we will bring together fans. On the other hand, we are going to show what is hidden behind the community.
One of our wishes with the Belgian Sneakers Days is to break down certain prejudices. For example, the shortcut saying “gay + fetish = sex”. If our lives ended in that, it would be very sad. The sneakers community is much more than that, it is a philosophy of life with multiple facets, notably cultural ones.
We contacted artists who took the sneaker for unique muse. We will invite you to discover a selection of works that they have graciously loaned us for the occasion. Certain pieces will surprise you, challenge you or surprise you.
No pomp for the opening on Thursday. We invite you to continue your evening under the sign of art and fetishism with the exhibition of our friends from Arthursday. Its theme: BDSM. Go a few hundred meters further for their opening hosted by DJs.
Since this is one of the major cultural events of the year in Belgium and since street art is part of the DNA of sneakers culture, we could not bypass the retrospective that Bozar is hosting. We have the opportunity to make a group visit at a preferential rate. Discovering Keith Haring’s work together with fetish friends is priceless. Reserve your place (before 30 January) for the tour on Friday afternoon.
It is the recurring activity of our association. We couldn’t do without it during our big annual weekend. As usual, Le Belgica will host our social meeting. The perfect place to have a drink with friends and meet new people. The international dimension of the event will give it additional interest.
For the rest, La Démence awaits you. On presentation of your #BEsneax member card, you will pay 5€ less at the entrance.
The highlight of the weekend is undoubtedly the election of Mr Sneakers Belgium 2020. It will be the very first time that the title will be awarded. Six candidates are running to obtain it and represent our association (and more broadly the community) for a year. They will face a jury but also the public who will vote for their favorite. Exceptionally, Stammbar will open its doors at 16:00 and everyone is welcome.
The lucky winner will make his first public appearance the same evening at Revelation. As official main party, the monthly fetish happening offers us a “Sport special edition” full of surprises. Here too, as a gold partner, Revelation offers a reduction of 5€ on the normal price by presenting your #BEsneax member card. Finally, to lift a corner of the veil, know that a new DJ has been recruited. He is himself a “kiffeur”.
Kees Kool a French guy but he was revealed by the Berlin techno scene where he lived for 15 years. He takes special care in his selections of stimulating and surprising sounds that make you feel positive emotions, as he recently declared in the interview with a specialized magazine. Last summer he had a gig in Palm Spring, in the Californian desert. On 8 February, he makes his debuts at Revelation in Brussels !
